Epilepsy the essential guide - book review

This book is aimed at people with epilepsy and their friends and family. It covers a wide range of subjects from first aid, benefits and employment - to hormones, pregnancy, and issues that affect children and teenagers.

There are also well written sections on surgery, travelling abroad with medication, managing anxiety, and improving your sleeping patterns.

The book is written in a very user-friendly way – and the layout is extremely clear.

In places, the information could be misleading where it is based on the author’s own experiences, for example the extract from her seizure dairy that talks of vomiting regularly after her seizures.

The summary sections at the end of each chapter sum up the key points really well.

This book is very thorough, easy to read and is good at getting straight to the point.
