Benefits
Epilepsy Society bank registration (casual work)
Epilepsy Society's 'Bank' is a list of casual workers who register in order to work shifts, as available, across the centre. They are a valuable resource used to cover staff shortages such as vacancies, holidays and sickness.
Registering on the Epilepsy Society bank is very popular with students who might need to work weekends or holidays to get them through college or university. It’s also popular with people who want to work flexibly, such as those with school age children or those who are just looking to work a few hours a week.
If you register on Bank, you’ll be able to work flexibly, supporting our professional staff and helping our residents to achieve their full potential. Previous experience isn’t required as we’ll give you full training, but you must be at least 18 years old.
There are other benefits of working on the Bank:
- It can provide a working opportunity for people who have been out of the work environment for a while.
- It enables people to get a taste of working in the learning disability field.
- It can provide useful work experience for people at the beginning of their working life.
- It’s a rewarding and friendly place to work.
- Bank workers also have the opportunity to apply for permanent positions within the Epilepsy Society.
The nature of Bank work means there is no mutual obligation on either side to offer or accept shifts in any given period. It is a flexible arrangement for both you and us.
As a Bank worker you'll be provided with a comprehensive induction training package to enable you to carry out tasks with confidence. You can also access various training courses run by Epilepsy Society, and you will always be well supported by permanent staff.
If you need any more information about registering on the Epilepsy Society Bank please don’t hesitate to call the personnel department on 01494 601 447.
