Where your money goes

Epilepsy affects almost half a million people in the UK and 50 million people worldwide. A staggering 75 new cases of epilepsy are diagnosed every day, touching the lives of not only those who are diagnosed but their families, carers and friends.

All aspects of the National Society for Epilepsy’s work are focused on helping those with epilepsy, their families, careres and friends. Read more about what we do on this website.

We depend on your donations to help us to continue to support all those with epilepsy.

How your money could help

Epilepsy information

We distribute over 200,000 epilepsy information leaflets each year. Just £3 per month can ensure we continue to provide free epilepsy information to the people who need it.

> Set up a direct debit today and help us to provide vital information

Epilepsy helpline

Our confidential caller-led epilepsy helpline answers 5,000. However, a quarter of our calls go unanswered each day. £10 means that someone who has just been diagnosed can talk to a trained helpline operator.

> Donate now and help us to answer more calls

Epilepsy information network volunteers

We need to train more volunteers to deliver information about epilepsy across the country, in particular to those just diagnosed with epilepsy. £30 covers the cost of the resources needed for a volunteer’s training day.

Schools awareness programme

Even in the 21st century, people with epilepsy continue to be stigmatised. Our schools awareness programmes help to break down the myths surrounding epilepsy and change attitudes. £100 covers the cost of running an awareness programme led by a volunteer in a secondary school.
