Hi ya, welcome to the forum.

Have the Drs indictaed what type of E you have yet, or are they still tyring to figure that one out? That'd explain why they haven't been able to tell you that much thus far, if it is still early days trying to work exctaly what sort of E it is - there's nearly 30 different types of E and E related syndromes.

What sort of seizures are you having?

Evening all, I'm Mike ,was first diagnosed in 1971 when I was 11 (although M&D say I had convulsions as a baby but Drs said this was normal in a child!?). Had regular szs 'Grand Mal' (oldspeak for TC I believe!!) until I was about 15 when finally ot things under control. Went to catering college in Leeds & things went clear until I was 22 when I had sz at work. Lost driving licence....aagh! Had 1 or 2 attacks a year until about 1987. Then clear until last szs late 2003. Now back driving again. For the last 18 years have worked in finance & credit control in insurance industry, although the last 2.5 years spent deveoping the Accounting & Billing side of our new computer system. Live on my own & do not let E govern my life!
Currently take Epilim Chrono & Epanutim.

WELCOME to the forum Mike.

Glad to hear your driving again, sure make life easier. I took Epanutim (Dilantin in U.S.) for 45 years until it became unstable and was either low or toxic. Hope you
get it tested regularily. Hope your seizures remain controlled. Best of luck!

Hi all thought I had best say hello :)

I have had E all my Life and as the song says "the drugs don't work" and I have tried many many cocktails  suffer with TC's and myocolinic jerks

prognosis is that I will never have full control over my sz and no operation can fix me as my whole brain is involved. but for £2 a month you can help LOL only joking, I was starting to sound like one of them adverts asking for money wasn't I.

thanks for having me

Lee

WELCOME to the forum Gill and Lee. Glad you recouperated from your stroke. Too bad about the E complication though Gill. Be patient and persevere and with a little luck and a good doc you'll hopefully be controlled soon. Lee, I was given the same diagnosis as you but I proved them wrong. I had daily seizures for 25 years then I got some control. You guys hand in there. There are so many cocktail combinations and dosages to try, and you may want to just give up, but perseverance is the name of the game. Best of luck to you both :!:
