At school
Schools are increasingly involved in fundraising activities. Many schools are involved in citizenship programmes with emphasis on supporting charities and volunteering.
Schools have been raising money for Epilepsy Society in many different ways, but if you are looking for inspiration why not combine fundraising for Epilepsy Society with our anti-bullying campaign and support our Stamp on Stigma campaign.
Here are some great fundraising ideas that combine opportunities to raise awareness around living with epilepsy with healthy living and fun.
Key Stage 1 (under 7)
- stomp round the playground or local park in big boots – get lots of people involved and ask them to find sponsors
foot painting poster – have a competition with a small entry fee and ask each competitor to submit a foot painting
decorate an old boot – see if you can grow flowers in Dad’s old wellies and create a work of art too
Key Stage 2 (7-11)
- sponsored school line dance - see how long you can keep going, or how long a line you can get – don’t forget the cowboy boots while you stomp
create/decorate a boot
Secondary (12-18)
- student organised line dance event, sponsor staff to get involved, on a scale to suit the school
- hold a car 'boot' sale
- sponsor a teacher to jump out of a plane
- wear purple for epilepsy on Valentine's day (St. Valentine is the patron saint of epilepsy too!)
