Volunteer for research
Volunteer for an MRI scan
Are you healthy and aged 18-65?
As part of our work to understand epilepsy, we are currently recruiting healthy volunteers for functional MRI brain scanning research at the Centre for Epilepsy in Chalfont St Peter. This particular type of scanning allows us to see what parts of the brain are activated during tasks of language and memory. Scans are painless and radiation free.
Interested? Contact Jason Stretton:
Email: j.stretton@ion.ucl.ac.uk
Tel: 01494 874 646 ext. 2223
We will then send you further information and a brief questionnaire to see if you would be suitable.
Please note that volunteering for an MRI scan is not a replacement for medical advice or diagnosis. If you have any concerns about your health we suggest you visit your GP or Primary Care Trust as soon as possible.
Help pilot a research project
Department of Geographical and Earth Sciences, University of Glasgow
Economic and Social Research Council CASE Studentship in collaboration with Epilepsy Scotland
Niall Smith is a PhD research student from the University of Glasgow. Niall invites you to complete an anonymous questionnaire to help pilot a research project about everyday life with epilepsy, addressing the challenges faced by people who have been diagnosed, and how they cope with and manage their seizures. The questionnaire seeks to find out about your experiences of living with epilepsy and what issues are most important to you in the place where you live. Even if you have well-controlled epilepsy Niall would still like to hear your views.
If you would like to find out more about the research please contact: Niall Smith, c/o Epilepsy Scotland, 48 Govan Road, Glasgow, G51 1JL
