Generous donation helps fund information for people with epilepsy

Generous members of the Freemasons’ Grand Charity have donated a whopping £15,000 to Epilepsy Society (formerly The National Society for Epilepsy or 'NSE').

The money will help to support the charity’s epilepsy information services which provide information leaflets on the medical, psychological and social aspects of living with epilepsy, from diagnosis to driving, pregnancy to parenting and employment to epilepsy in later life.

Bridget Gardiner, Epilepsy Society's director of fundraising and marketing, said: “It is a generous gift and it will make a big difference to the services we are able to provide throughout the country to people with epilepsy. We would like to thank the Freemasons’ Grand Charity for supporting us in this way.”

Providing information about living with epilepsy is one of the most appreciated ways that Epilepsy Society offers support. Over 70 leaflets, DVDs and factsheets covering all aspects of epilepsy are available from our information team.

Across the country volunteers from our Epilepsy Society Epilepsy Information Network (EIN) attend clinics to provide this information and support to people affected by epilepsy.

Epilepsy Society also has an Epilepsy Information Service at the Gowers Assessment Centre at its Chalfont St Peter site where more than 600 NHS cases, with severe and uncontrolled seizures are admitted each year to be assessed by top epilepsy specialists.
