A warm welcome from Queen Elizabeth House
'I have worked at Epilepsy Society for 28 years and really enjoy my time here. The residents are a great group of people. It is amazing to see what they overcome and how much they achieve.
‘We have 20 residents with complex needs at Queen Elizabeth House.
This is very much their home and our emphasis is on putting together a care package which focuses on each individual resident and what they want to get out of life.
‘We encourage and assist all residents to customise their own rooms – they can bring in pictures, posters, furniture and anything else which makes
it feel like home to them. We have a wide range of activities both on and off site and encourage residents to take part in community activities and outings that enhance the quality of their lives.
‘Off-site activities include outings such as sailing and swimming as well as theatre and football trips. In-house activities include music and art groups, cookery and the horticulture group – with residents enjoying produce from our own ‘edible’ garden!
‘We always welcome and encourage visitors at Queen Elizabeth House.
We also offer respite care and have the facilities to manage this service successfully.’
