Epanutin shortage
Epilepsy Society has been made aware of a shortage of the anti-epileptic drug Epanutin, manufactured by Pfizer. The shortages have affected 25mg, 50mg and 100mg capsules.

Epilepsy Society has been in contact with Pfizer about concerns regarding supplies of Epanutin. We understand that supplies of the 25mg capsules are expected to be resolved by 7 February, and of 50mg by 8 February. If you have any problems with getting your prescription of Epanutin filled, you can contact the Pfizer Customer Contact Centre on 0845 608 8866. However, you might also like to ask your pharmacist to contact Pfizer direct, as Pfizer can arrange a supply of Epanutin directly with the pharmacist and so help them to get a supply of Epanutin more quickly.

We understand that supplies of Epanutin are now back to normal, although there may be some problems with the 50g capsules. If you have any problems with supplies, please contact the Pfizer Customer Contact Centre on 0845 608 8866.

25mg: now being distributed and should now be filtering through into pharmacies now.
50mg: small amount of stock will be available by Friday but it may take a couple of weeks to regain full stock levels
100mg: small amounts of stock are being released currently a larger amount is due to be distributed on Wednesday
Emergency stocks can be sourced through UDG (Unidrug Distribution Group).
