Kitesurfers ride the waves for NSE
A team of Northern Irish kitesurfers are facing their greatest challenge - to cross the Irish Sea. The team hope to set off on October 3rd from Ballywalter in Northern Ireland to sail 24 miles to Portlogan in Scotland. The kitesurfing community in Northern Ireland first came up with the idea in October 2008. The kitesurfer team all wanted to do something together and ‘off the wall’ which would involve kitesurfing and raise money for charities which are close to their hearts.
Kitesurfer, William Donnan, chose to support the NSE to raise money for research into epilepsy to help his little nephew Ross who has a rare and as yet undiagnosed form of epilepsy.
Ross's dad, Karl said: "My brother William and his kite-surfing buddies are putting a lot of effort into raising money for this, and 3 other fantastic charities with their kite challenge across the Irish Sea. I can’t emphasis enough how grateful Clair and I are for their support and help. Thanks to all those involved, and to everyone who sponsors them."
