Bus passenger has rough ride
Epilepsy Society has made two Southampton businesses epilepsy champions after they championed the case of passenger Hugh Sach who had a seizure while getting off the bus.
Hugh, 34, from Winchester was initially helped by a fellow passenger who assisted him off the bus but then frog marched him to a cash machine and stole £300 from him.
Landlord of The Rockstone Pub, Max Greenwood started a collection to replace the stolen money but when the Southern Daily Echo took up his case tthe bank agreed to refund the cash.
Both the newspaper and the landlord and patrons of The Rockstone Pub in Southampton, have been given Epilepsy Society epilepsy champion award certificates, in appreciation of help given to make a bad situation better.
Hugh has now decided to donate the money from the collection to Epilepsy Society.
These special awards are only given to people, organisations and businesses which go that extra mile for people with epilepsy.
