MRI scan

Epilepsy Society has been pioneering MRI (magnetic resonance imaging) research for more than a decade.  The unit operates a powerful 3 Tesla scanner and is staffed by expert MR technologists, physicists and clinicians who are based in neurology, psychiatry, neurosurgery and neuroradiology.

In addition to the research projects, more than 600 patients with epilepsy have scans at the unit for clinical purposes, so that MRI is integrated with the assessment centre, epilepsy clinics, neuropsychology and EEG studies.
