UK weekend challenges
Eco Challenge
Saturday 29 May - Tuesday 1 June 2010
Experience this amazing four-day eco-friendly challenge from the east to west coast of Scotland. Camping alongside hill lochs and washing in fresh mountain streams every morning really means that you will be immersed in the ‘Real Monarch of the Glen’ in a short but eco-friendly challenge in the breathtaking remote Scottish wilderness.

Three Peaks Challenge
Friday 2 July - Sunday 4 July 2010, Friday 6 August - Sunday 8 August 2010
Take on and conquer the highest mountains in Scotland, England and Wales all within 24 hours! Your challenge begins in Scotland’s scenic Glen Nevis Valley to climb Ben Nevis, the largest mountain in the UK. On descending Ben Nevis you will be driven through the night towards the beautiful Lake District to climb Scafell Pike. Your final challenge will
be the highest mountain in Wales - Snowdon, or Yr Wyddfa in Welsh, a stunning end to the last of your Three Peaks.

Overseas treks 2010
Our experienced and responsible tour operators Charity Challenge label each itinerary with a difficulty level: challenging, tough or extreme. Expeditions are open to anyone over the age of 18, but other than that age is no barrier!
Please note that planning well ahead is recommended, eg 18 months, to allow time to get fit and raise the necessary funding, and because the programmes tend to get fully booked well in advance.
Great Wall of China

Witness Imperial China’s frontline defence and trek back in time on the Great Wall of China! Steep staircases and crumbling watchtowers, amid a vast mountain landscape, your adventure will be truly unforgettable. You will also have the chance to explore Beijing including the Forbidden City after you have successfully completed this rewarding challenge.

Trek to Machu Picchu, Peru
Friday 10 September - Sunday 19 Sept 2010, 27th May-5th June 2011, 30th September-9th October 2011
This challenge will involve strenuous trekking at high altitude but all of your hard efforts will be worth it when you arrive at the Lost City of the Incas, one of the most beautiful and enigmatic sites in the world. Since you will be travelling along an alternative and less crowded route, you will be offered glimpses into a way of Peruvian life that has remained unchanged for centuries.

Mount Kilimanjaro Summit

Cycling
Chalfont to Brussels
Wednesday 16 June - Saturday 19 June 2010
Join us on a fantastic four day cycle from NSE in Buckinghamshire to Brussels, via the delights of Calais and Bruges. Covering 285 miles in four days you will have the opportunity to soak up the sights in Bruges and Brussels along the way. Leaving on Wednesday 16th June, you will arrive in Brussels on Saturday 19th June for a celebratory meal and a chance for a drink or two to mark the completion of your challenge. The following morning you will be able to explore Brussels before catching the Eurostar which will get you back to London St Pancras in the early evening. This could be the perfect opportunity for you to dust off your bike and stick to this year’s resolution to get fit. Or you may already be a keen cyclist who is looking for an adventure this summer. Either way this is a fantastic way to see the sights with a friendly bunch of like minded people while at the same time raising vital funds for NSE.

NIGHTRIDER™
London by night, June 19th 2010
Brand new for 2010, NIGHTRIDER™ (opens a new window), is a one night 100km cycle challenge around London at night. Starting at Crystal Palace in south east London at about 11pm the group will set off together on this circular route. The route will be fully signed so participants can cycle at their own pace and can take in all the sights.

London to Paris ride
Friday 30 July - Monday 2 August 2010
Do you think you could cycle 320kms over one long weekend to make a difference to the lives of people with epilepsy?
You and the team will depart from the hustle and bustle of London for a two day ride through beautiful French countryside to a triumphant arrival in Paris. Celebrate the completion of your challenge at the Eiffel Tower with a glass of champagne before putting your feet up on Eurostar for the return journey home and a well deserved rest!

Saigon to Angkor Wat bike ride, Vietnam
Thursday 2 December - Sunday 12 December 2010
Over an 11 day challenge, explore the Mekong Delta by bike in this cycling route of 500kms. From bustling friendly villages to havens of calm and tranquillity, you will find the contrasting sights and sounds unforgettable. The climax of your challenge will be the chance to visit the ancient city of Ankor Wat, one of humankind’s most inspiring achievements.
