MSPs raise awareness of hemiplegia in parliament
A group of MSPs have tabled a motion asking the Scottish Parliament to recognise that this week is Hemiplegia Awareness Week 2015. Hemiplegia affects 1 in 1,000 children in the UK with brain damage causing weakness on either side of the body and other problems including epilepsy.
The MSPs are calling for greater awareness of hemiplegia and more support for people and families affected by the condition.
Hemiplegia Awareness Week runs from 12-16 October.
