Universal Credit is rolled out nationwide
The Government is bringing in a new type of financial support called Universal Credit. The new system will gradually be phased in for people looking for work or on a low income, starting this month. It will replace many of the benefits and tax credits currently available.
The Government hopes the reform will mean that all people are better off at work rather than on benefits, merging out- of- work benefits with in-work support.
Epilepsy Society's Autumn 2013 issue of Epilepsy Review magazine looks in depth at the new system and how it will work.
