Alexia swims Channel for epilepsy

Alexia O'Mara swims the Channel for people with epilepsyAmazing Alexia O'Mara has completed her swim across the Channel for people with epilepsy, despite having to cope with thunderstorms and excruciating pain. Alexia, who has the condition herself, has already raised £4,000 for Epilepsy Society and is hoping to hit £5,000.

She said: 'People seem to think that if you have epilepsy it can stop you living the life you want to have. I don't agree, it makes me more determined to achieve my dreams. I have always loved swimming and crossing the Channel has long been my ambition. I trained hard for three years for this challenge and  if my efforts inspire others with epilepsy to triumph in their ambitions, I would be delighted.'
