An information day hosted by Epilepsy Society and Epilepsy Action for people wanting to know more about the changes to the benefits system has been hailed a success.
The event 'Your epilepsy, your benefits' held on Tuesday (1 October) in London was attended by more than 65 people, who have or care for someone with the condition.
Benefit experts were on hand to explain Employment Support Allowance (ESA) and Personal Independence Payment (PIP) and answer questions on making a claim and the assessment process - a cause of anxiety for many people with epilepsy.
Sarah Vibert, Epilepsy Society's head of policy and development, said: 'We are glad this information day proved so helpful. Another benefit awareness event is planned and, if there is enough demand, more may be held. '
