Clinical nurse manager Santha Carthiyaniamma has been working at Epilepsy Society's specialist nursing care home, Queen Elizabeth House in Buckinghamshire, for 13 years.

Epilepsy Society is looking to recruit two volunteers to become Lay members of our Health and Social Care Committee, which is a sub-committee of our Trustee Board. Lay members play an important role in the oversight and scrutiny of decisions and policies made and your knowledge of care or medical services, and/or your experience as a relative or friend of someone with epilepsy, will support the committee in their work.
The Health and Social Care Comittee’s overall purpose it to provide assurance that our health and social care services - which incorporates several services including residential, nursing, domiciliary and therapy services - are operating within key parameters. Meetings are held on a quarterly basis, usually on a Wednesday afternoon between 1pm and 4pm, and you would be expected to attend every meeting. The term of office lasts for up to three years – this is a voluntary role but expenses will be paid.
