Being a part of our residential care offering means providing tailored expert care for people with complex epilepsy, combined with learning and physical disabilities. Our people do this with passion, commitment and empathy because life at our centre can be demanding, but we believe the rewards of building relationships and enhancing the quality of people's lives far outweigh the challenges.

The difference you'll make will be in the little things that can make someone's day, to the big things that will change their life – and you'll see your life change too. With different characters, changing moods and behaviours, day trips and new activities, no two days are the same, but each day you'll leave knowing you've made a difference.

We've created a home for our residents which means coming to work can feel like a home from home for our staff.

There's such a friendly community setting. I'll always have someone to go to for support and I'll always be listened to. We all want to help each other help our residents, so we all feel like we're needed to make a difference – that's really rewarding.

we have seven residential houses – six within our specialist chalfont centre – one two minutes walk away and also a domiciliary care/supporting living provision.

The Croft Cottage is a community based unit that provides a small homely environment for adults who have transitioned from children’s to adult services. Staff give flexible care and support to inspire and encourage residents to realise their adult potential.

STEPS supports people with epilepsy who live in their own homes in the community. Staff help clients maintain tenancy and independent living by providing care with a person-centred approach. Support can include help with personal care routines and physical assistance with daily tasks. Staff also receive training in medication management and epilepsy awareness, and must be flexible to meet the needs of clients.

micholls house

Residents at Micholls House are very active and are encouraged to be involved in all decisions about their lives, embrace new opportunities, and broaden their experiences. We inspire this in a safe environment, with a strong focus on activities and education. Specialising in individualised care and empowerment, staff embrace a person-centred approach with great energy, patience and dedication.

Greene House aims to make residents feel valued and respected in a happy and friendly atmosphere, providing personal and social care in a person-centred way. Dedicated to supporting the individual dreams of residents, employees are involved in a broad range of activities. Staff have a vigour of compassion, motivation and flexibility.

morton house

Providing a happy atmosphere in a homely environment, Morton House offers a full range of personal and social care based on individual choices and needs. Giving regular 1-1 meetings with residents to discuss issues important to them, our staff are committed to providing the very best possible support to residents.

milton house

Supported by specialist-trained and committed staff, Milton House aims to motivate the ambitions of each resident, and help them achieve their aspirations. With a person-centred approach, staff provide personal and social care through activities that will boost self-esteem, improve memory, stimulate imagination, and reduce feelings of isolation.

russell house

Our large, modern, purpose-built house is home to adults with epilepsy combined with multiple learning disabilities. Residents are very active and enjoy a wide range of activities that encourage social-interaction, and empower them to do as much as they can. We help them achieve this with an energetic, hard-working team of flexible and patient staff who all share a fun outlook.

queen elizabeth house

Queen Elizabeth House is our only nursing-led service. Staff are energetic, flexible, and think outside the box. We train them on both verbal and non-verbal communication, and in basic clinical skills where they learn how to distinguish and report seizures. Providing assistance to residents with physical disabilities, our staff use manual handling aids such as hoists.

I remember one resident saying to me ‘Thank you very much for giving me my medication’. It was wonderful to hear because his vocabulary was very limited and he had always given one worded answers. It made me pause and take a deep breath. If it was for nothing else, my job was worthwhile just for the ‘thank you’ I received that day.

Our mission relies on the compassion of all our people, including our fantastic team of volunteers. There are a variety of ways you can help change lives, and it will change yours too.

By spending time with our residents, you can introduce to them fresh ideas, new experiences, and make an invaluable difference to their lives. From taking part in activities, playing games, to going out on day trips; you'll build new relationships that will enhance their sense of personal identity, and bring them closer to the community. We also need driving volunteers and people to help residents express their views about the services we provide.

It's not only our care services who need you, we have many other volunteering opportunities from administration to practical activities such as gardening and if you have a skill you'd like to share, we'd love to hear from you.

In turn, you'll be part of our friendly team and have fun along the way. You'll gain as much as you give, with new skills, friendships and experiences. But above all, you'll be rewarded with the knowledge that you've made someone's day, and changed their life.
