Epilepsy Society is named top epilepsy research centre in the world

Epilepsy Society has been named as the top epilepsy research centre in the world, for the fourth year running. And our medical director, Professor Ley Sander, has been ranked as the world's leading expert on epilepsy - again for the fourth year running.

The nominations were announced by Expertscape, an online knowledge base of worldwide expertise in many different conditions, including epilepsy.

Medical research

Epilepsy Society is part of a unique arrangement with University College London and the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery.

This enables us to ensure academic and clinical excellence, patient input and relevance of our medical research.

Our research focuses on both genomics and neuroimaging, with our scientists collaborating with centres around the world to understand the underlying causes of epilepsy, improve treatment and to ensure that people have optimum seizure control and minimum side effects from their medications.
