The Scott family visit our research centre at Epilepsy Society
The couple lost their 23-year-old son Tom to SUDEP, Sudden Unexpected Death in Epilepsy, in 2014. The family has since raised more than £15,000 for Epilepsy Society through a nationwide appeal in Tom's name.
All the money raised with your help through the Tom Scott appeal, will go to supporting our researchers in identifying the causes of SUDEP. During their visit, Ian and Angela were able to see first hand the work that we are doing to understand why around 600 people die each year from SUDEP.
Here's the Scott family saying thank you for everyone's support:
There's still time to read the open letter from the Scott family and support Epilepsy Society's medical research with a donation.
Here's how a donation can help:
£25 could fund a blood test to establish the correct drug at the right dosage
£40 could enable us to take a DNA sample to help identify the cause of epilepsy
£100 could help us identify genes connected to epilepsy
Donate online or by phoning 01494 601 410.
