The numbers tell a powerful story of the massive impact epilepsy has on lives in the UK. 630,000 people in the UK have epilepsy, 60,000 of whom are under 18.
Every day, 79 people are diagnosed with epilepsy and three die. One third of people with epilepsy can’t control their seizures through medication. Our pioneering research is unlocking scientific discoveries and enhancing understanding about the many different forms of epilepsy, which could lead to the development of new antiseizure medication.
Here’s another statistic. Over a third of the Epilepsy Society’s voluntary income comes from legacies. Your legacy means that we can create a world where epilepsy is no longer in control.
